Styles of Practice

All of our classes are accessible to all levels. No experience is necessary. Honoring rest when you feel called to is encouraged.

The Roots

The Roots is our grounding Hatha Yoga practice specifically designed to be practiced in a heated room. This class is designed to invoke stillness and stability in body and mind through breath and focus. The Roots is an accessible set sequence inspired that allows students to slow down and hold postures longer. Students are encouraged to customize this practice to their own needs. If you are new to hot yoga or recovering from an injury, we recommend you start here!

The heat (set 99-100 degrees + 40-60% humidity) allows for deep, safe stretching and promotes detoxification for the skin, blood, and muscles through sweat.

All levels welcomed.

Flow

Flow is a fluid Vinyasa Yoga practice. Different from The Roots, Flow is practiced one breath to one movement, intentionally, which creates a moving meditation. Even with more movement and postures in the class, the pace is still even and smooth. This class is a relatively set sequence to create familiarity, dependability, and support in your practice. Students are encouraged to customize this practice to their own needs.

Power Flow

Power Flow is a fluid and dynamic Vinyasa Yoga practice. This class is unique to each instructor. Each teacher customizes their classes based on their sequence or intention for the offering. Power Flow tends to have more upper body engagement with peak postures to safely lead up to through repetition during the class. Students are encouraged to customize this practice to their own needs.

Yin

Slow moving, more passive, deeper stretching. Yin is both gentle, and yet a challenging practice. Poses are held for 3 – 5 minutes. More time in each posture gives way to restoring the body towards a natural state of softening and letting go. All poses are seated or reclined and there is almost always the use of props such as blocks and straps. This class is all about ‘un-doing’ all of the ‘doing’ we do! Yin is also a great intro to meditation and a great way to practice the ability to find stillness in body and mind. Students are encouraged to customize this practice to their own needs.
