Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training with Alli Shafer

A 40-Hour In-Person Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training rooted in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care

This 40-hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training is an immersive, in-person training designed for those who feel called to support pregnancy with skill, integrity, and care.

Offered at Pranify Yoga in Kelowna, this training unfolds slowly over four months, allowing time for integration, embodiment, and lived practice. Rather than a compressed or fast-tracked format, this training honours the rhythms of pregnancy itself — adaptive, intelligent, and deeply human.

Curated for yoga teachers and devoted practitioners, this training provides a comprehensive foundation in the anatomy, physiology, energetics, and lived realities of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Participants will learn how to support pregnant bodies through yoga with clarity, confidence, and respect.

Training Format & Structure

  • 40-hour in-person prenatal yoga teacher training course

  • Four 10-hour modules, one weekend per month

  • Saturdays & Sundays | 11:30am – 4:30pm

  • This training is held in-person at Pranify Yoga in Kelowna, BC, and welcomes participants from across the Okanagan and beyond.

  • One teaching weekend per month, intentionally paced to support:

    • Integration and embodiment of the material

    • Sequencing assignments and required readings

    • Travel, work, family life, and real-world responsibilities

This structure reflects a core principle of the training: pregnancy does not rush — and neither does this work.

  • November 21st – 22nd, 2026

  • December 5th – 6th, 2026

The Four Training Modules

Module One: Foundations

October 17–18

This module establishes the essential ground from which prenatal yoga teaching emerges.

  • Anatomy of the womb and female pelvis

  • Foundational physiology and the energetics of pregnancy and birth

  • Posture and breath as pillars of support, stability, and form

Participants develop a clear understanding of the pregnant body as adaptive, intelligent, and inherently wise.

Module Two: Transitions

November 21–22

Pregnancy is a continual state of change. This module explores how to meet these transitions with sensitivity and skill.

  • Hormonal realities and the trimesters of pregnancy

  • Benefits and considerations of prenatal yoga practice

  • Supporting the pregnant body from conception through birth

Module Three: Support

December 5–6

This module focuses on safety, confidence, and nervous system awareness.

  • Essential considerations and contraindications for prenatal yoga

  • Intelligent sequencing for the pregnant body

  • Supporting the pregnant psyche through breath, embodiment, and presence

Participants learn how to hold space for both the physical and emotional landscape of pregnancy.

Module Four: Integration

January 15–16

The final module widens the lens beyond birth and into postpartum care and teaching integrity.

  • Postpartum physiology and orienting to life after birth

  • Functional movement and restorative support for all birth outcomes

  • The art of teaching prenatal yoga: theming, voice, and clarity
